Then Bowen Therapy may help you |
Bowen Therapy is a non-invasive, gentle approach to pain relief and healing.
Bowen Therapy was developed by Tom Bowen of Geelong, Victoria in the 1950s. He recognised the underlying cause of many muscular and joint problems or pain could be found in the soft tissue or fascia (fash-ia) of the body.
The fascia is the connective fibrous tissue that runs throughout the body; it surrounds and protects our muscles and organs. When the fascia is damaged or tightens thru injury or incorrect posture this causes inflammation, pain and restriction in our movements.
Bowen Therapy uses gentle soft tissue or fascial release techniques on specific muscles, tendons and joints. Forceful manipulation is not used. Instead, Bowen Therapy involves a light cross-fibre maneuvering of the muscle or tendon, helping to relieve muscle tension, fascial constriction and inflammation thus reducing pain and increasing movement.
I am a trainer in the Nationally Recognised VET accredited Certificate IV in Bowen Therapy (10533NAT), delivered by Bowen Training Australia http://www.bowentrainig.com.au.
The course is structured to allow students to progress at their own ‘pace’.
Yamba is a great place to learn with a relaxed atmosphere, small classes, and plenty of accommodation in town. Bring the family for a weekend away whilst you learn. Accessible by car, only 2 hours from the Gold Coast, 1 hour from Byron Bay, 1.5 hours from Coffs Harbour, 3 hours from Tamworth. Arrive by plane (Ballina or Grafton), or Train (Grafton).
